Personal Space

In class we have had a few issues with personal space and boundaries. This week we have been working really hard on defining personal space and making sure that we do not pop any personal space bubbles.

Our class definition of personal space is the space you need around you to feel comfortable and not be distracted.

When we talked about our personal space bubbles, we agreed that there are times when our bubbles naturally grow and shrink. Activities where we were working with a partner, our bubbles may shrink a little bit, but activities where we are working alone, our bubbles grow.

Another part of our discussion dealt with when someone invades our space. We practiced using our words to help others know where our bubble is, and worked watching others actions and facial expressions to help us determine if we were in their bubble.
