Dear Kindergarten Families,
Welcome to kindergarten! I am
thrilled to begin this journey with your child. We have a great year ahead of
us and I am excited to have your child in my class.
Our year will be a busy and
productive year filled with exciting learning activities. Your kindergartener
will learn how to read and write stories, do math, and so much more. My hope is
to make your child’s learning experience a fun and exciting one. I hope to
instill in every child a love of learning that will last for a lifetime.
So much happens in
kindergarten, and it is important for families to be well informed and involved
in your child’s learning. It is my belief that positive interactions between
the teacher and parents strengthen the feelings of support all children need to
be successful in school. My goal is to create an atmosphere of open
communication regarding your child’s progress and behavior.
Part of the communication
between us will be through notes and letters in the red take home folder. There
will be updates in the folders about the units we are working on in the
classroom, and information about school and class events. These folders will
also be used to transport homework to and from school. There will also be
updates on our class blog at mskelseywilliams.blogspot.com
In order to help your child
with their success, growth, and learning, here are some things you can do at
home.
· Celebrate your child’s success, no matter how small it
may seem. This will help keep your child enthusiastic about learning and proud
of their work.
· Read with your child everyday. The more your child is
exposed to language, the easier it will be for him/her to incorporate new
skills in reading and writing in the classroom.
If there are any questions or
concerns please do not hesitate to come in and talk to me or contact me by
email at kwillia3@pps.net
By working together we will
be able to better meet the needs of your child. I look forward to getting to
know you and your child.
